Do you long to feel calm, relaxed and stress free? Hypnosis is a natural process that creates a wonderful feeling of calmness and peace as well as a heightened state of awareness.
This state of deep relaxation makes it possible for individuals to focus their attention in a very specific way to help overcome symptoms and conditions that may be holding them back or causing distress. The process leads to clarity of thought and new perspectives through harnessing the power of the subconscious mind. The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council defines hypnosis by the following description: 'Hypnosis is a state of mind, enhanced by (although not exclusively) mental and physical relaxation, in which our subconscious is able to communicate with our conscious mind’. As a result, personal development and healing is a natural effect of hypnosis achieved through the individual being in ‘trance-state’.
Hypnotherapy aims to help individuals become more accepting of themselves and others by finding peace in difficult situations through developing meaningful alternatives to their present ways of thinking, feeling or behaving. What I have found over the many years of experiencing hypnosis is its profound ability to help people cope through life difficulties but most importantly unlock an individual’s full potential through letting go of self-limiting beliefs and their associated thoughts and feelings.
One common question asked by those who enquire into hypnosis is: will I be in control’? The general consensus around this is that you do remain in control no matter how deep you go and you can talk and move freely throughout.
Please note. There are some instances when hypnotherapy is contraindicated and at times, in the interest of client health and safety it may be necessary for a client to seek GP approval prior to engagement in hypnosis.
